What was Huckabee thinking?
"...Mike Huckabee recently said he could support any of the other Republican Presidential contenders (including Rudy Giuliani), except Ron Paul. That means, Mike Huckabee would rather support a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control liberal such as Giuliani than support the pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-Second Amendment candidacy of Ron Paul. Why is that?"

Maybe it has something to do with Paul's stand regarding government departments and the US presence around the world?
I don't really know.
The funny thing is that I'd vote for the other candidates before I'd vote for Huckabee. Something about him just doesn't sit right with me.
If you compare the views of Huckabee, Paul and the other candidates, Huckabee absolutely has more in common with others than with Paul. It all comes down to the most basic philosophies. Huckabee wants to increase farm subsidies, create a federal ban on smoking in public places, etc. In other words, Huckabee believes the government needs to manage the economy and the behavior of individuals. On the other hand, Paul believes government is finitely limited to securing individual freedoms. That means Huckabee has more in common with any politician who believes the government should control us than he has with Paul who believes we should control the government.
Should a Democratic win the presidency, it only threatens Huckabee's view of government for a term, because the Democrat's policies can be changed with the next administration. But, if Paul won, and eliminated the Dept of Ed, the IRS, the FDA, etc, it would totally eliminate the possiblity of a Huckabee-style government.
